NACVIEW network access control (NAC)

Certified Technology Partner

Why we deploy NACVIEW

NACVIEW answers the question most networks cannot: what is actually plugged in. It identifies and profiles every device before it reaches anything — a laptop with an agent, a printer, a camera, a PLC that will never run 802.1X — and then grants, restricts, redirects to another subnet, isolates or blocks it on the basis of role, device type and context. VLAN assignment follows from that decision rather than from a port somebody labelled three years ago. The RADIUS server, the certificate authority, the DHCP server and the inventory are part of the product, so the deployment does not start with building three services around it. It is a Polish product, from Poznań, which settles support and documentation in Polish and matters where the manufacturer has to be reachable.

Core Capabilities NACVIEW

802.1X authentication across all available methods
Device identification and profiling before access is granted
Automatic VLAN segmentation by role, device type and context
Guest access through a captive portal and time-limited accounts
Built-in RADIUS, certificate authority and DHCP server
Network device monitoring over SNMP, and an inventory module

Use Cases NACVIEW

A network where nobody can say with certainty what is connected to it
Network segmentation required by NIS2, DORA or the Cybersecurity Act, enforced rather than drawn
Contractor and visitor devices that have to be kept off the production network
Printers, cameras, medical and industrial devices that cannot authenticate themselves
A hospital or authority that has to show an inspector who had access to which network and when
An endpoint flagged by EDR that has to be cut off from the network, not only from its own disk

Why ZeroLayer

The most common cause of a failed NAC deployment is enabling enforcement across the entire network at once, which disconnects devices that have been classified incorrectly. We therefore deploy in stages. In the first phase the system runs in monitoring mode only and reports the decisions it would have taken; that report establishes which devices require an exception. Enforcement is then enabled segment by segment. Our scope covers the surrounding work as well: switch and controller configuration, certificate distribution, and the policy for devices that do not support 802.1X. Where an EDR is already in place we integrate the two, so that isolating a workstation also withdraws its network access.
